New Page Navigation Controls
Web Survey Creator easily deals with large surveys which is great, but it used to be a little tricky finding the exact page you wanted within hundreds of pages. Our new page navigation controls now make it easy, featuring two ways to quickly find a page.
Page name quick search
Page number quick jump
New Date Question Styles
Managing dates in surveys is much harder than it first appears. Some dates fall into a small range, so choosing from a simple calendar works well (e.g. what date was your most recent appointment?) while other dates are over a long period of time and you need to be able to quickly change years (eg. when were you born?). This release includes completely reworked date question controls to support every conceivable use of dates well (including the tracking of time as well as date).
Date entry field with pop-up CalendarThis date style makes it easy to type a date directly in the field, or alternatively choose from a calendar. The calendar has drop-down month and year selections, making it easy to choose dates even if they are years away from the currently displayed date.
Date (and/or time) drop-down entry fieldThis date style allows a respondent to choose a date, a time or a date and time from a series of drop-downs. This style of entry is particularly useful when time has to be entered, since the drop-down format makes time selection easy.
Single date drop-downIf you want to store data as a date, but the range of dates is short, you can now choose to show a simple dropdown of dates:
The dates will show in the survey as a simple list:
Robust date validationAs part of the upgrading to date management in Web Survey Creator, we have added the most comprehensive date validation creator possible.
Import Responses
Responses can now be imported directly into respondent-based, and anonymous distributions. This makes it possible to bring in initial responses, or transfer responses from other systems.
Responses can be imported as text. An example of the format is shown below:
Recall Code Generator
Integration to third party systems is now easy with our recall code generator. Simply choose how many codes you need and they will be generated, and provided to you in a spreadsheet. These codes can then be used with the external system.
It is now possible to limit responses to only include existing recall codes, so that only the generated ones are considered "valid".
Scripted Page, Choice & Row Ordering
Page randomization is a powerful way to manage bias in surveys. There are times, however, when an exact order needs to be set based on certain conditions in a survey. This is now easy - simply use scripted page ordering to create the exact order needed.
Choices (and matrix rows) can also now be ordered using scripting - again, giving precise control to the content of the survey.
Enhanced Slider
Our slider question has had a number of enhancements, including the ability to forgo any display of a scale. This is great to get a respondent's impression of something without any bias caused by tick-marks or numbers..
Respondent System Improvements
In addition to an enhanced respondent import, there are now further enhancements to the management of respondents. It is now possible to send Emails to a filtered list of respondents by simply filtering the respondents browse, and choosing the new Email menu on the toolbar:
You can now also choose individual respondents to Email by checking them, and pressing the Email button on the browse:
Emailing Enhancements
The Email sending capability in Web Survey Creator has been made significantly more flexible, with capabilities now including the ability to send a small "soft launch" of emails, send emails in batches, and tag respondents that have been sent Emails.
Quota Calculation Log
Whenever quotas are calculated for a response, full details of the calculation are now stored in a log. This makes it easy to see what the settings were at the time of the calculation, and the exact reason a particular response quota passed or quota failed.
